GM plans to sell 4G LTE-connected cars, trucks and SUV’s as early as mid-year 2014. GM will specifically first partner with AT&T to introduce the service and get the ball rolling, then introduce other broadband carriers into the mix as the program rolls out.
Expected benefits for GM customers include in-vehicle Wi-Fi hot spots, new infotainment options like streaming video entertainment in the back seat, real-time updates and faster application downloads. As part of the vehicle, the Wi-Fi hot spot will be hardwired into the vehicles electrical system, with a standard external antenna to maximize coverage for users. Read the rest of this entry
GM is going to show its redesigned Cadillac CTS car at NY auto show next month. The new Cadillac CTS luxury mid-sized sedan is more different than the ATS. Cadillac officials said that the new Cadillac CTS will more directly take on BMW’s popular 5-Series car.
A Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell said that Cadillac also will introduce a coupe version of the ATS next year. Executives previously said a new version of the Escalade sport utility vehicle and the plug-in electric ELR coupe would hit dealers in early 2014. Read the rest of this entry
