BMW announced new BMW 6-series  features, that include advanced voice-recognition system that can take dictation from the driver and send out an e-mail or text.

BMW noted it’s simplified voice commands and control over most cabin tech features. The new system will let drivers activate a dictation mode, having the cartranscribe e-mails and text messages. The car reads out the resulting text and includes voice controls for making simple edits. The driver can send the text to anyone in her paired phone’s contact list through e-mail or text message. Kia unveiled its Soul concept car at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show. Then at this year’s Detroit show they confirmed that the Soul was definitely headed to production with an expected arrival date of late 2008 as a 2009 model.

It’s called a hatch, but looks like a wagon and has oodles of inner space for its relatively diminutive exterior dimensions. With its upright style it is easy to get in and out of the Soul, and when you’re in you find it’s quite roomy with good head and legroom. The launch of a start-up will revive the century-old name of Detroit Electric cars with a car that on paper looks much like a Tesla Roadstar.

The new Detroit Electric company revealed it would reveal its first model next month, a two-seat all-electric sports car that would be a harbinger of future models. The company will not just take Detroit as a brand but base its headquarters in the city, vowing to generate 180 jobs and open a Michigan plant that can build 2,500 vehicles a year. Cadillac revealed its new engine, used for the 2014 CTS sedan. The engine is a twin-turbo V-6 producing 420 hp and 430 pound-foot of torque. Acc. to General Motors, this is the most power dense six-cylinder engine in the segment producing 118 hp per liter.

The V-6 will also be the first twin turbo engine for Cadillac and the first be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It uses a smaller pair of turbochargers combined with an efficient charge air cooler to reduce turbo lag and provide immediate power delivery. The engine displaces 3.6-liters and GM says that 90% of engines peak torque is available from 2500 RPM up to 5500 RPM. Read the rest of this entry
